NYC doesn’t have too many alleys, but it's fitting that this Chicago transplant found one. I’ve had this burger multiple times now - both in NYC and Chicago - and it always delivers. In fact, the first time, it left me speechless.
The Burger: Double Cheeseburger (Tier 1). Two prime beef patties with sharp American cheddar, pickles, onions, and dijonnaise. All ingredients strike the perfect balance, with each bite showcasing the rich, beefy flavor and subtle tang of the cheese. Fries are not included, but they're a must-add, especially with garlic aioli.
Pro Tip: While you can add bacon or egg, I believe this burger is perfect on its own. The additions add a nice touch to the presentation and offer a unique flavor twist, for those who like a little extra. It’s the same burger you’ll get in Chicago, but there the “Single Cheeseburger” comes with two patties…
The Occasion & Vibe: Date Night / Reservations Recommended. Be prepared for a per-person fee to secure a reservation (really!?), but you can also walk in to enjoy a more laid-back experience at the bar. The setting is intimate and swanky, with a unique vibe that sets it apart from its Chicago counterpart. It's a must-do NYC experience.
The Location: TriBeCa, Cortlandt Alley between Walker & White Streets.
